Create a dynamic form with a Form Rule

This Tutorial requires a previous execution of Add state and a selection field with a Custom List.

This tutorial describes how to create a new Form Rule. Define Form Rules to create dynamic forms. With Condition Rules you can specify attribute states that automatically hide, show, lock or make required other attributes. It requires a previous execution of Add state and a selection field with a Custom List.

  1. Move the mouse over the label
    Administration
    in the top right corner (without clicking it)
  2. A panel containing all the different admin options will pop up: on this panel click on label
    Form Rules
  3. In the tree view on the left side of the pop up, click on the node
    Idea
  4. Click on the green button
    + Form Rule
    on top of the main workspace area
  5. A new Form Rule is created and a form panel comes up where attributes of the Form Rule can be set
  6. Enter into field
    Name
    Closed Ideas
  7. Enter into field
    Condition
    Idea.state = 'Implemented' OR Idea.state = 'Rejected'
  8. Click on the blue button
    Save
    below the attributes form panel
  9. The new Form Rule is now saved to the database
  10. Click on the register
    Form Rule Actions
    next to the attributes tab
  11. Click on the green icon button
    Add
    on top of the register table
  12. Change selection field to
    Target Field
    Name (name)
  13. Check box
    Target Visible
  14. Click on the blue button
    Save & New
    below the attributes form panel
  15. The new Form Rule Action is now saved to the database, a new one is created and show in the attributes form panel
  16. Change selection field to
    Target Field
    Description (description)
  17. Check box
    Target Visible
  18. Click on the blue button
    Save & Back
    below the attributes form panel
  19. The new Form Rule Action is now saved to the database and the window is closed
  20. Click on the Close-Icon
    X
    in the top right corner of the pop up to close the window
