How Split helps

    Installed in three steps

    Open Split in Safari, tap the Share icon at the bottom and choose “Add to Home Screen”. Split gets its own icon and starts without the browser bar.

    Why installing makes sense

    Safari may delete data of websites that haven't been used for a week. That doesn't apply to web apps on the home screen. Whatever has already been synced is also kept on the server.

    Secure it with a passkey or Apple

    If you also want to use Split on your iPad or Mac, secure your account with a passkey from iCloud Keychain or with “Sign in with Apple”.

    Install Split the first time you open it. Then your data is safe from Safari's automatic deletion.

    If an invite link opens inside another app, such as WhatsApp, choose “Open in Safari”. That's where you can install Split.

    On the iPad, Split works the same way – with more room for long expense lists.

Does Split work on the iPad too?

Yes. Split runs in Safari on the iPad just like on the iPhone and can be added to the home screen there as well.

Can I sign in with my Apple ID?

Yes, with “Sign in with Apple”. You only need it if you want to use Split on several devices; otherwise the anonymous device account is enough.

Why have my groups disappeared on the iPhone?

Most likely Safari deleted the data because Split wasn't opened in the browser for a week. If you secured your account, just sign in again. Add Split to your home screen so it doesn't happen again.
