Install
Install on iPhone and iPad
Split doesn't need the App Store. Using Safari, you put it on your home screen and then start it like any other app – in its own window and even offline.

Step by step
- 1
Open Split in Safari
Open Split in Safari, Apple's browser.
- 2
Open the share menu
Tap the share icon, the square with the arrow pointing up. Depending on your iOS version, it's in the bar at the bottom or behind the menu next to the address.
- 3
Add to Home Screen
Choose “Add to Home Screen” in the list; you may need to scroll down a little. Confirm with “Add”.
- 4
Start Split from the home screen
The Split icon is now on your home screen. From now on, start Split from there rather than in Safari.
Good to know
- The installed app and Safari store data separately. If you already created groups in Safari, secure your account and sign in with it in the installed app.
- Safari may delete data of websites that haven't been opened for a few days. On the home screen, Split is exempt. Secure your account anyway so nothing gets lost.
- Split shows no install button of its own on the iPhone; Apple only allows installing via the share menu.
