For road trips
Lots of miles. One clear tab.
Who filled up, who paid the toll, who covered the motel? Split keeps track on the road, so nobody has to work it out afterwards.

How Split helps
- 01
Add costs on the road, even with no bars
A fuel station in the mountains, a ferry without Wi-Fi: Split saves the expense on the phone and syncs it as soon as there's signal again.
- 02
Car, fuel and tolls, fairly
Whoever brings their car adds an agreed amount for wear and tear. Fuel and tolls are shared by everyone on board.
- 03
People who join later
For each expense you choose who was there. Nobody pays for a stretch they didn't ride along.
Tips
- 1
Agree before you leave whether the car costs something, and how much.
- 2
Add fuel receipts straight away, before they vanish into the glovebox.
- 3
Toll stickers for several countries are easy to forget. Add them as soon as you buy them.
- 4
Settle up on the last day, before everyone heads off in different directions.
Add the names here first
Enter the group name and people here. Split takes them over and shows them to you before saving.

Frequently asked questions
Your question isn't here? Write to us
How do we account for driving one person's car?
Agree on an amount for wear and tear before you leave, for example per mile or kilometre. The car owner adds it as an expense everyone shares. Fuel and tolls go in as usual.
What if not everyone rides the whole way?
Pick the participants for each expense. Whoever joins in Oslo doesn't pay for the ferry from Kiel.
Do we have to add every fuel stop?
That's the most accurate and takes a few seconds. If you'd rather keep it short, collect the receipts and add one total per day.
