Secure your account

With a secured account your groups are available on all devices and aren't lost with your phone. You decide whether you stay anonymous.

Step by step

Open your account
Under “Your groups”, tap the person icon “Account & settings” at the top, then “Link device”.

Pick a method
Under “Stay anonymous” you secure the account with a passkey – no name, no password. Under “Personal account” you link it to Google or Apple.

Link a passkey
Tap “Link with passkey” and confirm with Face ID, fingerprint or your device PIN. The passkey syncs to your other devices via your iCloud or Google keychain.

Or continue with Google or Apple
Tap “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple” and sign in there. Afterwards it shows, for example, “✓ Google linked”.

Check
Under “Device & sync” your account now says “Synced” along with the linked method. Your existing groups were carried over.

Your device needs an internet connection to link.
With “Link another method” you can add more methods, for example a second passkey as a backup.
A secured account can't be turned back into a plain device account. That way a purchased license can always be restored.
If Split says Google and Apple aren't set up yet, use the passkey.
