For rent
Same rent for different rooms? It doesn't have to be.

How Split helps
- 01
Shares instead of equal parts
Choose “by shares” for the rent and enter the room sizes. Split divides the amount accordingly and rounds exactly to the cent.
- 02
Everything shared in one place
Rent, power, internet and the washing-up liquid go into the same group. At the end of the month, one transfer per person is enough.
- 03
Moving out, moving in
New roommates join by link and start at zero. Whoever moves out settles their balance first.
Tips
- 1
Write the agreed shares into the first rent expense, so nobody has to work them out again.
- 2
If one person pays the landlord, add the rent as their expense each month.
- 3
Settle up once a month to keep the amounts small.
Add the names here first

Frequently asked questions
Your question isn't here? Write to us
How do we split the rent by room size?
Add the rent as an expense and split it by shares. Use each room's size as its share. Split calculates the amounts exactly to the cent.
What about the kitchen and bathroom?
Everyone uses the shared rooms equally. Many flatshares therefore use an equal base plus room size – either with adjusted shares or with two expenses: the base split equally, the rest by size.
Do I have to add the rent every month?
Yes. Using last month's expense as a template takes seconds. Recurring expenses that add themselves are planned.
