How Split helps

  1. 01

    Everything from booking to check-out

Deposit, remaining rent, tourist tax, final cleaning and breakfast rolls: it all goes into one group, no matter who pays.

  2. 02

    Arrive later, pay less

Split the rent by nights using shares. Outings that not everyone joins are shared only by those who went.

  3. 03

    Everyone sees the balance

Every expense is visible to the whole group right away, on everyone's phone. Nobody has to pass a spreadsheet around at the end.

Tips

  1. 1

Decide when you book whether the rent is split per person or per night.

  2. 2

Create the group with the deposit and invite everyone by link.

  3. 3

Split tourist tax and linen, when charged per person, only among those concerned.

  4. 4

Settle up on the last evening while you're all still together.

Frequently asked questions

Your question isn't here? Write to us

How do we split the rent when someone only stays a few nights?

Split the rent by shares, for example by nights: whoever stays five of seven nights gets five shares, everyone else seven. Groceries and cleaning can still be split equally.

What about the security deposit?

If you get it back in full, it doesn't need to go into the group. If the host keeps part of it, add only that amount as an expense and split it like the rent.

We paid the deposit months ago. Does it still belong in the group?

Yes. Add it with the date you paid. Ideally you create the group right when you book, so nothing gets lost.
