How Split helps

  1. 01

One buys, everyone sees their share

Whoever buys the gift adds it. Everyone else sees right away how much they're putting in.

  2. 02

    Invite in the group chat

Share the invitation link in your group chat. Whoever joins picks “I'm …” and sees their share, without an app or sign-in.

  3. 03

    Who has already paid

Mark payments as paid. That way the buyer sees at a glance who's still missing.

Tips

  1. 1

Agree on a budget per person before anyone buys the gift.

  2. 2

Add your bank details or PayPal link so the others pay faster.

  3. 3

Don't invite the birthday person, or the surprise is gone.

Add the names here first

Enter the group name and people here. Split takes them over and shows them to you before saving.

Prepare a group

A group name is enough. You can add more people later in Split.

If Split already knows your name, you can leave this empty.
Separate names with commas.

Nothing is saved until you confirm the draft in Split.

Frequently asked questions

Your question isn't here? Write to us

Does Split collect the money for us?

No, Split doesn't move any money. Whoever buys the gift adds it. The others see their share and pay it directly, for example using the saved bank details or PayPal link.

Can the birthday person see the group?

Only if you invite them. The group is private and only reachable for people with the invitation link.

Not everyone is putting in the same amount. How does that work?

Split by shares or with exact amounts. Whoever wants to give less gets a smaller share; Split works out the rest.
