How Split helps
Shop instead of paying in
Whoever shops adds the expense. Split shows who is in the minus, and whoever buys the next beans evens out their balance.
Coffee and tea kept apart
For each expense you choose the participants. Tea drinkers don't pay for beans; milk and sugar are shared by all.
New colleagues via link
Whoever joins the team joins via link and starts with a balance of zero. Whoever leaves stays in until everything is settled.
Tips
Agree on what belongs in the coffee fund: beans, milk, sugar, filters and descaler.
Whoever is in the minus buys next. That way you hardly need any transfers.
Add bigger purchases like a new machine just like any other expense.

Frequently asked questions
Your question isn't here? Write to us
How does a coffee fund work without cash?
Whoever buys coffee, milk or filters adds the purchase as an expense. Split shares it among everyone who drinks along. Whoever is in the minus buys next or sends a transfer.
I only drink tea. Do I have to pay for the beans?
No. For coffee, select only the coffee drinkers as participants. Milk or sugar that everyone uses is shared by all.
Can Split count how many cups someone drinks?
No, Split isn't a tally sheet. Costs are shared among the participants. Whoever drinks a lot more can take a bigger share.
Does our company need a licence or IT approval?
Split runs in the browser and needs no sign-up. Whether you may use it at work is best checked briefly with your IT team.
