Split saves on your device first. That's why you can add expenses even without signal; it syncs as soon as you're back online.

Step by step

    Notice you're offline

    Without a connection, Split shows “Offline – changes are saved on this device” at the top.

    Keep going

    You can create groups, add, edit and delete entries and look at balances. Everything lands on your device right away.

  3. 3

    Wait for sync

    As soon as you're back online, Split syncs your changes with the server. Then the others see them too.

Good to know

  • These need a connection: inviting and adding people, accepting an invitation, securing your account or signing in, and buying Premium.
  • Split queues receipts and payment details offline and transfers them once you're online.
  • So Split also starts without a connection, install it as an app.
