Troubleshooting

Data missing on iOS

On iOS, groups usually disappear for one of two reasons: you're looking in the wrong place, or Safari deleted the data. Here's how to find out what happened.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Check the right place

Safari and the app on the home screen store data separately. If you created the group in Safari, open Split in Safari – and vice versa.

  2. 2

Sign in with your secured account

If you secured your account, the data isn't lost. Sign in under “Already have an account?”; this works on a device or in an app that has no groups yet.

  3. 3

    Prevent it in future

Install Split on the home screen and secure your account with a passkey, Google or Apple.

Good to know

  • Safari may delete data of websites that haven't been opened for a few days. On the home screen, Split is exempt.
  • If the account wasn't secured and the data was deleted, it can't be restored. The other members still have the group, though, and can invite you again.
