Account and devices
Delete your account
If you no longer need Split, you can delete your account. The groups carry on for the others, and your device starts fresh.

Step by step
- 1
Settle up
Settle open balances in your groups first, so nobody is left waiting for money.
- 2
Delete the account
Open “Account & settings” and tap “Delete account” at the very bottom. Read the notes and confirm with “Delete account”.
- 3
Start again
Split resets this device and shows the start screen again. If you use Split again later, you begin with a new, empty account.
Good to know
- You leave all groups and your payment details are deleted. Other devices, passkeys and signing in with Google or Apple stop working.
- Device keys, passkeys and the Google or Apple link are deleted at once, your account and payment details after 30 days. Purchase records are kept as long as commercial and tax law require.
- Your name stays on earlier entries in the groups, so the others' balances remain correct.
- A running yearly subscription ends immediately, without a refund. A lifetime licence lapses. Group licences stay with their group.
- Your device needs an internet connection to delete the account. Deleting can't be undone.
Try it right away in Split.
