Add income

It's not only expenses that count: when money comes back, such as a bottle deposit, a refund or the landlord's deposit, record it as income. Split splits it like an expense, just the other way round.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Create an entry

Tap “+ Entry” in the group and pick “Income” at the top. Split asks “What came in?”.

  2. 2

    Title and amount

Enter a “Title”, for example “Deposit back”, and the “Amount”.

  3. 3

    Who received the money

Under “Received by”, pick who got the money. If several people received something, tap “+ Several people”.

  4. 4

    Split and save

Choose who the money belongs to – “Equally” or, as with expenses, by shares or exact amounts – and tap “Save income”.

Good to know

  • Whoever received the income then owes the others their share. Split includes this in the balances; you don't have to settle anything by hand.
  • For money one person gives directly to another, use “Transfer” instead.
